The Carib Waltz our theme music

was the background for a Carrier Air Conditioning short film
that was played from the opening of the CARIB Theatre to promote Air Conditioning,
as this was the first Carrier Air Conditioning system installed in the West Indies,
and probably the Carib Theatre is the first Air Conditioned building in the West Indies.
When the short film wore out, the Carrier Company tried to replace the music.
In the interim, the manager substituted Chopin La Golandrina as the theme for a short while.
However, in 1946 Mr. Lloyd Alberga commissioned National screen Service to track down the music
and when they did, they found that it was called the “Society Waltz”
but had no author that could be identified.
He tried to get RCA to press a record of this waltz but not wanting to risk a lawsuit, they declined.
However, National Screen Service put it on tape, and they catalogued it henceforth as the “Carib Waltz
